Junfac "Tracer" chassis conversion kit.

The kit retails for 99.99 at the homepage, or 105 on e-bay. Delivery from Korea took less than 12 days with standard shipping to my door. http://www.junfac.com

What is in the kit, and how does it look?

Kit includes the 2 side plates, 8 link rods w/ studs and ends. 4 axle mounts, 2 solid extended driveshaft rods, and all the hardware you'll need to finish the conversion job from a complete TLT to a Tracer.
Materials finish is nice, the clear anodize is flawless. I found no burs on edges of the chassis plates or around the holes. The instructions are only available online so you'll need to print them.
Links are solid aluminum, clear anodized. The link ends are on 4mm studs and beefy. Link Balls use 3mm screws through them. The included 5mm spacers inside, & outside of the 2 chassis plates are also burr free. With the link studs at 4mm you shouldn't worry about bending these.

My favorite part is the axle mounts. They really look cool and beefy. Sure the stock TLT has useable brackets, but these just look mean on the assembled truck.

Here are a couple more chassis shots:

The tires you see in the pictures are are double narrow TLT stockers. Ok, one look at the tires, and stock TLT shocks and you know this was a budget build. Note: After a test run I highly suggest not using the stock TLT shocks. The springs are just much to weak. A nice set of Proline Moabs, or Imex Swampers and it'll really be a nice truck. I used Tamiya blackfoot axles for a bit wider stance, but not needed in this build. (Add $16.00 to the build cost.)

Here you can see the chassis during assembly (I won't do a "how to" as Junfac has the instructions online in pictures, and it's an easy assembly)

I went with 2 wheel steering, I set mine up by using a longer 3mm case screw to attach a rod to.

Summary,

After this conversion the TLT has 1 bad weak spot, the belt drive. Making a tensioner helps, but it's more of a bandaide than a fix. The ball diff is also weak, and, well lets just say that whole stock TLT tranny leaves something to be desired for an all out rock crawling setup. However, if your on a budget, or want to upgrade to a much better looking, and handling chassis than the stock TLT than this might be what you need. For 99.00 and 117.90 to my door the kit is reasonably priced. Rating the Tracer kit, I'll give it a 9.5 on a 1-10 scale. I think a slightly shorter (by an inch) wheelbase would be better, . It works out to roughly 12.375" as I assembled it.
