PTI's goliath truck, both the Monster Racer, and rock Crawler are featured.

ElectroHacker states:
so I've been running this little truck HARD for the last week or so (over 30 runs total) and I've compiled a list of broken parts and weaknesses as well as strengths for this little truck that most definitely COULD!

parts I replaced:
1 rear diff ring and pinion (guy who built it had it too tight and it wore out)
2 center pinion (made of cheap plastic, I found a steel one hiding in my motor box)
3 ball ends on the links (they're weak... I'd say some nice dubro link ends are in order)
4 screws that fell out (please use super glue and locktite on ALL screws, they WILL come loose)
5 Stock motor (it's a dog)

parts I've broke but don't completely care about replacing yet:
1 front plastic plate thingy the body posts mount to (I plan to make one out of aluminum)
2 battery retaining post fell out (don't really use it as I never got the retainer, the TLT pack I'm useing was wire tied in by the previous owner)

now on to the good stuff

stuff I liked:
1 good speed
2 light but not too light (it's a good weight for it's size, unlike my clod which make fat children look light)
3 nice tires (grippy but don't perform on loose dirt, best for on road and grass)
4 TAKES ALL NORMAL EQUIPMENT! (from 2.2 tires and wheels (pin drive will need hex adaptor for hex wheels) to 540/550 motor and radio and esc)
5 all metal chassis (nice and tough little brute)
6 Strong nylon spur gear in tranny (it takes a likin and keeps on tickn)
7 excellent articulation for a 1/18th truck

Stuff I didn't like:
1 CVD drive shafts (is it too much to ask for a decent slider shaft)
2 dogbones in the axle (although they haven't had a problem yet)
3 plastic parts driving the dogbones in the axles (again no problems yet, but I foresee them)
4 plastic parts that mount he body posts (they're too weak)
5 servo mount skid (when it bends it hits the servo and it's further out than the tires, so when you try to crawl it hits)
6 the wheels have to be left loose so the axles don't bind (poor design flaw)
7 open center tranny (a rock could get in there and reek havoc, I plan to make a cover soon)
8 weak suspension links (while i haven't bent one yet... I've been trying not to, I should just replace them with the same type I have on my clod)
9 not enough room for a normal stick pack ( I plan on modding this soon too)
10 the cantilever suspension binds
11 the HPI shocks leak (mine probably need a rebuild)

Now even with all it's faults I still recommend this truck as it's a blast to drive and it looks good in stock form. And the use of associated drive parts means that replacements are in no short supply.
